Awarding Exceptional Leadership
Here at Apcera we like to acknowledge the achievements of our employees. It’s always great when they are recognized outside of our walls for the work they do. We take special pride when one of our own is recognized by others for his or her contributions and leadership.
Today our COO Jan Plutzer is being honored as the 2015 Female Executive of the Year at the Women in Business and the Professions World Awards, for her leadership both at our company and in the community.
I’ve known Jan for quite a long time. She is a smart, savvy leader who has a unique ability to create successful global teams. Throughout her career, Jan has leveraged her strengths in finance and negotiations to rise from director of Finance, where she negotiated and closed dozens of complex, multimillion dollar deals, to the company’s senior vice president of Global Field Operations, overseeing the global reseller strategy and negotiating some of the company’s largest deals.
When I started Apcera, I wanted Jan to be an integral part of what I was creating because she combined an innate ability to identify business operations and new market opportunities. Together I knew these were the attributes we needed in a COO to build a successful global company.
My instincts were right. Over the past two years, Jan has been instrumental in the company’s launch and simultaneously closed our investment from Ericsson. She also has focused on establishing an open corporate culture and recruiting a diverse workforce at Apcera, all while the company was growing its employee ranks by more than 400 percent over the past year.
Jan also shares her expertise as a mentor for promising women entrepreneurs, providing them with input on their business ideas and plans. She is as a premier member of Watermark, a non-profit organization in which top women executives come together to connect, develop and advocate for the advancement of women in the workforce.
Join us in congratulating Jan on a well-deserved honor and a job well done!
